Hello, fellow Reformation fan. I'm guessing that you are one because you're here. I'm a firm believer (because it's true) that Reformation is just as good at designing fall and winter clothes as it is at designing its covetable summer dresses that it's known for. And I got the opportunity to try on some pieces from the recent fall drop. I chose from lightweight sweaters, long-sleeve dresses, chic coats, trousers in more, all in fall-friendly prints and colors. Below are my reviews and IRL photos of seven of my favorite pieces that I had the pleasure of trying on. Find out why they're great and shop all of my Reformation favorites for fall below.
My Review: This trendy yet classic sweater set was one of my favorite selections. Specifically, I liked that the tank was more fitted and not too cropped, while the cardigan was more loose and slouchy. The 100% organic cotton fabric is cozy but not extremely warm, so it's a great option for fall, and it's not so thick that you can't layer it under a coat in the winter. I love this pretty mossy green color but it also comes in an equally sumptuous chocolate brown.
My Review: There's something that's so chic and luxurious about a long trench coat. It makes me feel like a glamorous French woman on a train. Over the years, Reformation has designed plenty of trench coats, but I have to say that this one is probably their best yet. All the classic details are there, including the sleeve straps, the detachable belt, and the single back vent. It's one of Reformation's more classic pieces, but it feels cool (as everything they do is). I'm wearing my usual size small, and there's room for a sweater underneath.
My Review: These two pieces were practically made for each other, so I tried them on together. I was drawn to the sleeveless sweater because of the rich chocolate brown hue and the slightly cropped fit, and it delivered in every other front too. I appreciated that it's slim and thin enough to be tucked in, but the fit is still relaxed. This is something I'd wear a lot in the fall, and it would be easy to layer come winter. The Flounce Skirt is a breezy little miniskirt that would look great with boots, loafers, sneakers—you name it. I'd especially recommend wearing it with knee boots when the weather cools. The length was great for someone like me that's on the short side (5'4") and the viscose material falls so nicely. This check print is almost sold out but it's a Ref staple, so it comes in several other prints. But if you prefer this one, it's one of those brands that makes it a habit to restock (and I love them for that).
My Review: I love a good daisy print, so I was instantly drawn to this top. It's the perfect transitional piece—long-sleeved but still lightweight. If you've been thinking of trying the corset-top trend but don't want to get too literal with it, the Reign top is definitely worth a try. I love it tucked into a pair of high-waisted jeans but it would also look really very with a pair of loose black trousers and heels. The back is smocked so even though it's a slim fit, it's nice and comfortable.
My Review: I noticed that Reformation has made this dress in several prints already, which usually means that it's a popular one. Kelly green is a big It color right now, and I'm always on the lookout for cool midi dresses to wear with boots in the fall, so I was eager to try the Carolena Dress. In person, the dress is lovely—romantic yet vibrant. I should warn you that the slit is quite high and I wish I would've sized up as it's slim-fitting. But all-in-all, I can see why it's so popular. It's a Ref classic.
My Review: Just like all of my other fashion friends, I've been on the hunt for a pair of cargo pants as of late, after spotting them in my Instagram feed and on all the trend-setting models. My first impression of Reformation's pair was that they were unbelievably soft, which is always a plus. I'd wear these with crop tops, T-shirts, button-down shirts (with just a few buttons buttoned), and pretty much anything else. They're just as versatile as jeans, and they're machine washable. To achieve the slouchy look on the model, I would recommend sizing up.
I'd wear these with the aforementioned Reign Top in a heartbeat.
Lilac and cashmere is a match made in heaven.
