Iranian Official Says Mandatory Hijab Law Is Under Review

Iran’s Attorney General Mohammad Jafar Montazeri said Thursday that the government is reviewing Iran’s controversial Hijab Law that mandates women wear a hijab in public, according to Iranian opposition-friendly outlet Entekhab, Akhtar Makoii, Arash Azizi and Alex Stambaugh report for CNN.
This comes as Montazeri was quoted on Saturday saying that Iran’s Morality Police, who enforce the nation’s Hijab law, have been abolished amidst large nationwide protests.
