Justice Kavanaugh Tests Positive for COVID
The 56-year-old associate justice, who has been vaccinated, tested positive for coronavirus during a routine examination Thursday. Court officials said he was not suffering any symptoms, and no other Justice has received a positive diagnosis.
Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh is the newest VIP victim of COVID-19. The 56-year-old associate justice, who has been vaccinated, tested positive for coronavirus during a routine examination Thursday, reports The Washington Post. Officials said he was not suffering any systems, but it was unclear whether he would attend the opening session of the Court’s Fall term on Monday. However, the court said he would not attend the Friday ceremonial investiture of Amy Coney Barrett, the most recently appointed justice. Ironically, more than two dozen people who attended President Donald Trump’s announcement of Barrett’s appointment in September 2020 later tested positive. The Court said none of the other Justices have tested positive so far. Kavanaugh was seen in the Capitol late Thursday wearing a face mask.
