Texas state senator Nathan Johnson filed a bill in November that would make it a state law to have online court as an option for those seeking protective orders.
Over the past two years, virtual services went up by 750 percent over the past two years, according to the Texas Council on Family Violence found. Counseling and therapy was also provided online 54 percent of the time. Legal services were also provided online, with 93 percent of immigration aid and 79 percent of child support assistance being provided online.
