Suspect in Canadian Stabbing Spree Found Dead
Damien Sanderson, 31, was one of two brothers believed responsible for a series of stabbings in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan that left 10 dead and 18 injured in one of the deadliest attacks in Canada’s history.
A stabbing spree that left 10 people dead in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan has apparently ended with the death of one suspect, Associated Press reports. Evan Bray, chief of the Regina, Sask., police force, said Damien Sanderson, 31, was found dead near the stabbing sites. Police believe his brother, Myles Sanderson, 30, is injured, on the run and likely in the provincial capital of Regina. “These injuries are not believed to be self inflicted at this point,” said RCMP Commanding Officer Assistant Commissioner Rhonda Blackmore.
The discovery of the body came on the second day of a massive manhunt for the pair, who are suspected of carrying out a series of stabbings in an Indigenous community and a nearby town, which also left 18 people injured. It was one of the deadliest attacks in Canada’s history.
