Alleged Police Impersonator Arrested By Capitol Police
A suspected police impersonator was caught near the U.S. Capitol building with multiple knives, a chainsaw blade and fake police equipment in his car on Monday.
This Monday, Capitol police arrested a suspected police impersonator who was caught near the U.S. Capitol building with multiple knives, a chainsaw blade and fake police equipment in his car, following a tip from the Secret Service. The Secret Service searched the suspect’s car and recovered shell casings, a smoke grenade, a gas mask and other items. The suspect is facing charges for impersonating a law enforcement officer and possession of a prohibited weapon.
Capitol police reported arresting another person for impersonating a cop in January 2021 and in June 2022, another man was arrested for carrying a fake police badge that said “Department of the INTERPOL” and a number of weapons and accessories in the Capitol, Nicholas Wu reports for Politico.
