Answer The Call is a nonprofit that provides financial assistance and other support to the families of first responders in New York killed in the line of duty.
The 911 Cellphone Bank accepts both financial contributions and donations of new and used cellphones to support their mission to provide emergency phones to victims of human trafficking and domestic abuse.
Safe Horizon supports survivors of violence and abuse including children and caregivers through hotline work, counseling, providing meals, coordinating housing, and promoting justice for victims of crime and abuse.
Volunteers of America-Greater New York is an anti-poverty organization that is working to end homelessness in the New York area and provides services and support to people experiencing and at risk of homelessness. You can visit the national organization here. VOA-ReST 4 First Responders offers online Resilience Strength Training programs and group sessions for first responders around the country.
The Fortune Society works to support successful reentry for previously incarcerated people and promote alternatives to incarceration, offering employment services, education, treatment and various other services to formerly incarcerated people and their families.
The Sentencing Project is a research and advocacy organization focused on “effective and humane” responses to crime.
The Innocence Project is an independent nonprofit organization that works to free innocent people and prevent wrongful convictions.
Equal Justice USA is an organization focused on responses to violence that “break cycles of trauma,” including through trauma-informed policing training.
