Fashion Editors Agree—These Are the Jewelry Trends to Know This Spring

As a fashion editor who looks at a hefty amount of market on a daily basis, I tend to take my time when it comes to shopping. And when it comes to jewelry, I'm even pickier. Jewelry may be small in size, but it's big in how much it can change an entire outfit. Now that the warmer weather is here and there's less room for layering, jewelry is the best way to add a creative element to even the simplest of outfits. While I was worrying about scarves and gloves in the wintertime, spring is officially here, and that means more room to layer on the stacks of necklaces and rings galore.

We've already talked about the jewelry trends that came down the runways, but I was eager to know my fellow editors' opinions on the trends that will actually be translating over to their wardrobes this season. I knew you would appreciate their thoughts just the same, so I relayed them below. As someone who tends to overthink when it comes to buying new pieces, I'm 100% trusting their picks when shopping for myself this season, and I know you will too.

"I saw a picture of Sydney Carlson wearing a body chain with her swimwear, and voilà. Moments later, I had about 10 tabs open with body chains. The trend started trickling in last summer, but this spring, I feel like it's about to really pop off. From a Y2K-inspired beaded situation to just a dainty gold vibe, you can't go wrong." — Anneliese Dominguez, Fashion Editor, Branded Content

"Heavy gold jewelry has come to us in many shapes and forms, and the newest take on the trend is so chic. Large gold studs that tend to come in circle form were all over the 2022 runways, so it's definitely the next jewelry trend I'm planning to buy into. It really can elevate any look." — Sierra Mayhew, Associate Editor

"While they've never been out, I feel like vintage (and vintage-looking) watches are particularly in right now, and I'm so into it." — Nicole Akhtarzad Eshaghpour, Senior Market Editor

"I'm seeing such a resurgence in heart-shaped jewelry right now. Hearts seem to come and go every so often, but lately, I'm really into chunky rings like this Bella Hadid–approved pick and punk-inspired takes on the sweet motif." — Anna LaPlaca, Editor

"I've been seeing a lot of ribbed gold pieces, which reminds me of the jewelry my mom wore in the '80s. It's a subtle trendy that doesn't feel overly "trendy".—Allyson Payer, Senior Editor

"I can't get enough of the chokers that are popping on the market. I especially love the shoelace versions, as spotted on the Ludovic de Saint Sernin F/W 22 runway." — Kristen Nichols, Senior Editor

"After years and years at the top of the jewelry hierarchy, gold jewelry will officially be surpassed by silver this season. For me at least, gold earrings and chains are too everywhere these days, whereas silver styles feel fresh and different, even if the actual piece is quite simple." — Eliza Huber, Editor

"I would say my style is pretty neutral, so I try to have fun with my accessories. This is why I'm so excited that there are so many colorful jewels to be had right now. From pops of emerald to pink sapphire, I plan to go big this season. After the last few years, we all deserve to inject some joy into our outfits!" — Caitie Schlisserman, Beauty Director, Branded Content

"I continue to love modern and fresh takes on pearl jewelry. They always add a luxe touch to any outfit. I'm opting for oversize sculptural pearl necklaces and mixed-metal earrings." — Judith Jones, Senior Market Editor
