Former Trump Organization Executive Testifies Against the Company
Allen Weisselberg previously pleaded guilty to evading paying over $1 million in taxes while working for the former president before testifying.
New York prosecutors called on Allen Weisselberg, who worked for the Trump Organization for 50 years, to testify as part of an investigation into the organization’s tax evasion case, Grahm Kates reports for CBS news. Weisselberg has previously pleaded guilty to tax evasion, admitting that he received over $1.7 million in untaxed money called “luxury perks.” The perks are an alleged pattern of misconduct at the company, which is accused of routinely giving untaxed compensation to employees. Weisselberg testified that he continued to work for the company after his indictment in 2021. In Weisselberg’s deal with prosecutors, he must spend five months in jail at Rikers, followed by five years probation. He must also pay $1.9 million in back taxes and fines.
