German Police Arrest Woman for Killing Person in Bid to Fake Her Own Death
The suspect murdered a woman she met online who looked "strikingly similar" to her, according to an autopsy and DNA analysis.
German police arrested a woman for allegedly murdering a person who looked “strikingly similar” to her in order to fake her own death. The murdered victim in the case, whose body was disfigured and left in the suspect’s car, was originally identified by family members of the suspect. Autopsy reports and DNA analysis instead found that the victim was another young woman, Jack Guy and Barbie Latza Nadeau report for CNN.
German police believe the suspect, a beauty blogger and online influencer, lured the woman to meet her under false pretenses. “The suspects came up with the plan to search online for a woman who looked similar to the [suspect], kill her, and place her in such a way that the corpse would be mistaken for the suspect,” a police spokesman said.
