House Weighs Vote on #MeToo Act Nondisclosure Restrictions

The House of Representatives may vote next week on legislation that would make nondisclosure agreements that attempt to prevent people from coming forward about allegations of sexual harassment and assault invalid, Paige Smith reports for Bloomberg Law.

The SPEAK OUT Act would not apply to nondisclosure agreements signed as part of a settlement, after a dispute, but would provide legal reassurance to many who have previously been prevented from coming forward about allegations of misconduct because of potentially overreaching nondisclosure clauses.
