Man Found Guilty of Attempted Manslaughter in Tallahassee Shooting

De’Arius Cannon was convicted of attempted manslaughter and improper exhibition of a firearm on Friday, after the October chaotic group shooting outside Half Time Liquors in Tallahassee, Florida, where a purported gunfight left one dead and 8 injured, Christopher Cann reports for the Tallahassee Democrat. Cannon was not found guilty of murder in the death of DeMario “Ro” Murray, who died during the incident.
The gunfight is alleged to have been a conflict between local neighborhood groups and the result of a small group’s plan to “orchestrate a mass shooting.” Cannon’s attorneys argued that he only shot overhead during the exchange of fire and did not shoot or orchestrate the shooting of Murray. Three others have been charged with second-degree murder following Murray’s death and additional arrests and charges may be possible.
