On Thursday, the Manhattan district attorney’s office filed a request for the dismissal of 188 convictions.  The cases were connected to at least one of eight members of the NYPD who were found to have abused their power and this wave of dismissals follows moves this and last year by the Brooklyn, Queens and Bronx DA’s offices to seek the dismissal or vacation of some 688 convictions connected to officers convicted of crimes or accused of lying in other cases, Hurubie Meko reports for the New York Times
