Paul Pelosi Attack Suspect Pleads Not Guilty To State Charges
David DePape, charged with crimes including assault and attempted murder for a recent attack on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul Pelosi, entered a second not guilty plea in San Francisco superior court on Wednesday.

David DePape, charged with crimes including assault and attempted murder for a recent attack on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul Pelosi, entered a second not guilty plea in San Francisco superior court on Wednesday, Veronica Miracle and Paul LeBlanc report for CNN. DePape allegedly broke into the Pelosi home in October and attacked Paul Pelosi with a hammer. Court documents describe DePape telling federal investigators that he was looking for the House Spekaer, and that he planned to kidnap her and “break her kneecaps” if she lied.
“I didn’t really want to hurt him, but you know this was a suicide mission,” he allegedly told police at the scene. Prosecutors also allege DePape admitted to planned attacks against other high-profile figures, including Gov. Gavin Newsom and actor Tom Hanks.
