Alabama’s parole board has denied parole for 90 percent of inmates, granting the fewest number of paroles than ever before, Kim Chandler reports for the Associated Press. In the most recent fiscal period, the three-member board granted parole to 409 inmates, rejecting pleas from over 3,500 others. The percentage of granted paroles has dropped each of the previous four years.
