Thanks, It's New: 25 Items Our Editors Added to Their Closets This Month

Is anyone in need of some shopping inspiration? Well, nobody asked, but I'm certainly delivering anyway. With a dizzying number of new pieces hitting the market, it can be downright intimidating to peruse what's out there in the hopes of making a little wardrobe update. But that's where I come in, friends. On a typical day, I do some online browsing to highlight the very best shopping picks of the moment, but today, I'm taking it a step further by showing you what we're personally adding to our closets and including some inspirational outfit photos.

There's no doubt our editors are a stylish bunch. (I look to their Instagrams for my own style ideas.) So when I tell you these new tops, dresses, shoes, and bags are it, I think you'll agree. Keep scrolling for the new fashion favorites we added to our closets in January, from the sculptural wedges I found to Yusra's tailored maxi skirt and Sierra's expensive-looking Zara jacket that everyone needs, according to me.

Cool, sculptural, and comfortable? Yeah, I'm never taking these compliment-generating wedges off.

I thought all black turtlenecks were interchangeable until I tried Commando's aptly named Butter bodysuit. Its razor-thin material is a dream for layering, and of course, for a shapewear brand, it has some sculpting magic in it. I've worn mine multiple times a week this winter.

Leather flight jackets are one of those items that give an instant cool factor, no matter what else you wear them with. This one from Hudson Jeans, while a little pricey for a typical faux-leather jacket, is a total dream to wear, and I never want to take mine off.

You know an item is worth it when nearly half of our editorial team owns and wears it on repeat. That's exactly the case with Jenny Bird's Florence Earrings. They remind me of Bottega Veneta's Drop Earrings, but they're easier to wear as an everyday pair.

Tights that rip after one wear or tights that are rip resistant and stay in your closet for longer than a single season? I'll take the latter, thank you very much. Sheertex's Rip-Resist tights are the backbone of my closet and the only tights I ever want to wear again.

"I've been on a skirt craze these past few months, and a classic long pencil skirt was high on my priority list. It's sleek, classic, and easy to wear. I've already come up with at least six outfits, and that was without that much effort. Dare I say it's replaced my favorite trousers?"

"Like many other fashion folks, I, too, have found myself a bit enamored with the ballet aesthetic. I originally got these socks for a ballet class, but I will be using them to add a fun touch to shoes."

"Finding a luxe-looking V-neck sweater that wasn't $500 and above was a tricky feat I didn't expect, so I decided to give this option from & Other Stories a try. It turned out to be a success. It has the perfect relaxed silhouette, is extremely soft on the skin, and hits slightly above the waist just how I like it."

"I'm invested in the baroque-pearl trend, and while there are plenty of versions on the market, I'm recommending this pair from Completedworks to everyone. The soft-pink mismatched earrings are impactful yet versatile to style."

"Gorpcore is all the rage right now, and I'm finally giving in and wearing hiking boots. I just started styling this pair along with my casual outfits, and I feel like they add a really nice touch."

"I've already gotten dozens of "where did you get that?" questions about this jacket, and I've owned it for one day. The distressed brown leather is so on-trend for 2023 and reminds me of a few runway moments I've noticed in the past few seasons. Some of my favorite designers are selling jackets like this for a few thousand dollars, but this one is under $200."

"This bag is perfect—period. Both practical and chic, it is by far my most worn purchase of the month."

"I avoided getting in on the ballet-flat trend for months, but when I saw this Mary-Jane style at Tory Burch, I fell hard and fast. I love the bright color and the flat-toe detail especially."

"I've been searching for a pair of super-structured, dressed-up khaki pants for a long time, trying out pairs from everywhere between H&M and Celine to no avail. It wasn't until I popped in Proenza Schouler's fall sale a few weeks ago that I finally found them. These are so luxurious yet still very wearable. I couldn't help but get them—especially now that they're seriously discounted."

"I finally gave in to my inner child and got the viral Puppets and Puppets Cookie bag. My family may be judging me for getting it, but it brings me so much joy."

"I own so many leather trenches, but one of the greatest additions to the collection is this olive-green one from Free People. It's such a great statement piece that always manages to get me a few compliments when I'm out and about."

"I finally got my hands on my first pair of Staud boots, and honestly, I don't know how I lived without them. I always wear heels, and these are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. They're the ideal knee-high boots for traversing the city in style."

"I impulsively bought this BY FAR scarf while it was on sale, and I'm so grateful I did. While I was initially nervous about the zebra print being practical, all my doubts faded after I wore it for the first time. It's the perfect statement piece to add to a simple all-black winter outfit, it's so incredibly soft, and every time I wear it, I get compliments. It's arguably the best accessory I've bought in a while."

"I just got this woven clutch bag from the sustainable brand Themoirè, and I'm obsessed. I'm normally not a clutch gal, but the size of this bag paired with the subtle yet luxurious woven leather makes it the ideal everyday bag."

"I was lucky enough to receive this Jacquemus bag from a loved one over the holidays, and I honestly still can't believe I own it. Everything about this shoulder bag is stunning—from the orange suede to the shape to the handle."

"This scarf in buttercup yellow is just delicious. The color feels very fresh, and it pops against everything."

"I got the opportunity to customize a pair of Golden Goose sneakers (one of my go-to brands) at the new concept store in NYC. I will basically be living in these fun kicks."

"The prettiest puffer is this lush lavender one from Nanushka. It adds some serotonin to my winter ensembles."

"Leaning into the sporty aesthetic, I've been obsessed with these pastel-pink shades. They make every outfit cooler, and I'm convinced my walking pace increases with them on."

"I've been wearing this zebra-print fleece an embarrassing number since buying it earlier this month. It's cozy, colorful, and comfortable—the three pillars of a staple piece in my closet."
