Atlanta Shooter Pleads Guilty to 4 Massage Parlor Killings
If convicted in four more shooting deaths, Robert Aaron Long faces the death penalty in connection with the March 2020 mass shooting at three massage businesses.
A Georgia man accused of killing eight people at three Asian massage businesses entered a guilty plea Tuesday to all charges in the first four shooting deaths. Robert Aaron Long is hoping for a life sentence without parole. If convicted in four more shooting deaths in Atlanta, he faces the death penalty, reports Yahoo News.
Long allegedly killed six women of Asian descent in a shooting rampage in March, but a prosecutor said Cherokee County investigators saw no evidence of racial bias. A prosecutor previously said Long was motivated by “sex addiction.” District Attorney Shannon Wallace said officials had planned to seek the death penalty if Long didn’t plead guilty. Long will appear again next month in Fulton County, where District Attorney Fani Willis filed notice that she intends to seek a hate crime sentence enhancement along with the death penalty.
