California Case Against Man Who Assaulted Paul Pelosi Moves Forward

The man who allegedly broke into the Speaker of the House’s home and assaulted Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul Pelosi in October will stand trial for all charges against him in California, Superior Court Judge Stephen Murphy ordered on Wednesday. Officers testified at a preliminary hearing Wednesday about the sequence of events leading to David DePape’s alleged hammer attack against Pelosi in front of responding officers, CBS reports.  David DePape faces charges of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and elder abuse, among others, and in a concurrent federal case he faces charges including attempted kidnapping of a federal officer.
