Ranking member of the House Oversight Committee Rep. James Comer (R-KY) said on Sunday that, if he were to chair the committee, his main priority would be hearings investigating COVID-related relief funding.

GOP Legislator Targets COVID Funding Waste, Fraud and Abuse

Ranking member of the House Oversight Committee Rep. James Comer (R-KY) said on Sunday that, if he were to chair the committee, his main priority would be hearings investigating COVID-related relief funding.  Comer argued that “hundreds of billions” of dollars have been wasted under the umbrella of COVID response funding in the last three years, Rebecca Morin reports for USA Today. Comer also said fraudulent unemployment insurance funds and fraudulent PPP loan funds would be investigated.

“These are things that are going to be priorities for us as a committee: waste, fraud, abuse, and mismanagement,” Comer told NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
