Marshall Project To Expand ‘News Inside’ To Prison Tablets

The Marshall Project has decided to make News Inside, their publication bringing news to incarcerated people in the US, and their Inside Story video series, available on for-profit tablets.

The Marshall Project has decided to make News Inside, their publication bringing news to incarcerated people in the US, and their Inside Story video series, available on for-profit tablets, Lawrence Bartley announced on Friday. The decision was made following a survey of incarcerated people and their loved ones where a vast majority told the project that they would want to have access on the devices.

With the change, the Marshall Project is making their work available on for-profit tablets with the caveat that incarcerated people may not be charged for accessing their content and that the for-profit companies involved can’t censor or use their work in marketing without permission.
