Fifteen Massachusetts police officers had their certifications suspended by The Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission on Tuesday for violating commission standards by being arrested, charged with or indicted for a felony, Susannah Sudborough reports for Boston.com.
The list includes officers from major Massachusetts cities, including Fall River, Springfield, Fitchburg, Lowell, Somerville, Woburn, Watertown, and Holyoke. The POST Commission was created in 2020 as a way to improve policing standards and public safety as part of a criminal reform bill.
