The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the DEA seized thousands of suspected fentanyl pills at Los Angeles International Airport after a trafficker attempted to get them through security screening by hiding them in boxes of popular candy brands, reports NPR. About 12,000 pills were seized by sheriff’s detectives and DEA agents assigned to a drug task force at the airport. The suspected trafficker fled but has been identified.
