Vallejo City Council Approves Three-Pronged Police Oversight Model

Vallejo City will implement a police oversight model to supervise its police force that has killed 19 people since 2010, John Glidden reports for the Vallejo Sun. The council voted 6-1 to back an ordinance forming a three-prong oversight approach. The model includes investigations into police incidents conducted outside the department, a Community Police Oversight Accountability Commission and a police auditor. The council will make a final vote on the oversight decision next week.
