Another California Mass Shooting Monday Killed Seven

One suspect in the San Francisco Bay Area killed at least seven in two separate shootings Monday afternoon.

One suspect in the San Francisco Bay Area killed at least seven in two separate shootings Monday afternoon, just two days after the Monterey Park mass shooting on Saturday. The suspect, 67-year-old Chunli Zhao, was arrested more than two hours after the shootings, CNN reports. As of Monday night, a motive was unknown.

A semi-automatic handgun was found in the suspect’s vehicle. The Gun Violence Archive that tracks deaths by gun violence, mass shootings and other gun violence-related statistics reports that there have been at least 39 mass shootings this month in the U.S. California Governor Gavin Newsom says he was briefed on the Half Moon Bay shooting while meeting victims of the Monterey Park shooting. It’s the state’s second mass shooting in three days.
