Two Memphis firefighters connected to the death of Tyre Nichols are no longer with the department. The two assisted in the initial care of Nichols after he had a “confrontation” with Memphis police that led to his death three days after the incident, FoxMemphis13 reports. The firefighters were relieved from their duty as the department investigated the incident internally. Five Memphis police officers were fired for excessive use of force and failing to intervene and render aid to Nichols after an internal investigation from the city’s police department.
